UNHCR hails Qatar grants and RAF aid for Syrians
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has praised Qatar’s grants in general and aid from Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) for Syrian refugees in Al Zaatari camp.
In a statement, UNHCR Camp Coordinator Hovig Etyemezian said the aid provided by RAF which represents thousands of readymade homes — ‘caravans’ — through its recent campaigns are marked by their good design and included bathrooms and kitchens to help improve the lives of the refugees and reduce their suffering.
Etyemezian also praised Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani, Founder and Honorary President, RAF, for his directives to bolster coordination with UNHCR and its staff.
He praised RAF officials, including Dr Ayed bin Dabssan Al Qahtani, Chairman, Board of Trustees, and General Director, for efforts to provide necessary care to the refugees.
He stressed the importance of strong coordination between RAF and UNHCR to achieve the goal of providing aid to the refugees.
